TECHNOLOGY EXPLAINED

How ClearStream™ Works

Most wipers spray fluid from hood nozzles, then wipe. Half the fluid evaporates or blows away before the blade even reaches it. ClearStream™ solves this with a fundamentally different approach.

01

Fluid Travels Through the Blade

Your washer fluid hose connects directly to the ClearStream™ blade instead of to hood nozzles. As you trigger the pump, fluid flows through the internal channel running the full length of the blade.

02

Micro-Holes Spray Directly on Glass

Precision laser-drilled micro-holes (0.1 mm diameter, spaced every 15 mm) release fluid directly onto the windshield at the exact point where rubber meets glass. Zero wasted fluid. No wind interference.

03

One Pass — Perfectly Clear Glass

The spray and the wipe happen simultaneously at the same point. Clean, streak-free glass in a single pass. Bugs, road grime, dried salt, gone. What used to take 5 swipes now takes one.

ClearStream™ vs. Traditional Wipers

The difference in practice.

Installation Guide

ClearStream™ is not plug-and-play — the blade connects to your vehicle's washer fluid hose. Most car owners complete this in 20–30 minutes with no special tools.

⚠️ Before You Begin: Your hood-mounted washer nozzles will no longer spray after installation — fluid flows through the blades instead. This is fully reversible at any time.

1

Check Your Wiper Arm Type & Blade Sizes

Identify your wiper arm connector style (hook, pin-top, pinch-tab, or side-pin) and confirm both blade sizes. Refer to the size guide above or your owner's manual. Select the matching adapter from the included set and attach it to the blade.

💡 Most auto parts stores offer free wiper size lookup by vehicle — or contact us and we'll confirm for you.

2

Remove Your Existing Wiper Blades

Lift the wiper arm away from the windshield (it locks upright). Press the release tab on the old blade and slide it off the arm. Lower the arm carefully — snapping it onto bare glass can crack the windshield. Repeat for both wipers.

3

Attach ClearStream™ Blades to the Wiper Arms

Slide each blade (with adapter installed) onto the wiper arm hook until you hear a click. Give it a gentle tug to confirm it's locked. The blade inlet port for the hose is at the base near the pivot point — leave the cap on until you connect the hose.

4

Locate & Disconnect the Washer Fluid Hose

Open the hood. Trace the washer fluid hose from the reservoir pump — it typically splits into two lines going to the hood nozzles. Disconnect the hose at the split point or at each nozzle. Cap the nozzle ports if preferred.

🔧 Have a rag ready — a small amount of residual fluid may drip when you disconnect the hose.

5

Route & Connect the Hose to Each Blade

Using the supplied hose and T-connector, route one line from the disconnected hood hose along each wiper arm to the blade inlet port. Push the hose end into the port until it clicks. Clip it along the arm using the included holders.

💡 Leave a small slack loop near the arm pivot — the arm moves and the hose needs room to flex without pulling on the blade.

6

Test Before Closing the Hood

Activate your washer pump from inside the car. Watch both blades — you should see a fine mist of fluid appear along the underside of each blade. Check all connections for drips. Once leak-free, close the hood and do a full windshield test.

7

Final Check — One-Pass Clean

Run the wipers with the washer active. Fluid should emerge from the blade and clean the glass in a single pass with no streaks. The system may need 1–2 cycles to purge any air from the hose.

✅ If spray is uneven, check for a kink in the hose at the arm pivot. A gentle re-route resolves this in seconds.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before you buy.

ClearStream™ is an integrated water spray wiper blade by Carrera Custom Garage. Instead of relying on hood-mounted nozzles that spray fluid in front of the blade, ClearStream™ releases washer fluid directly from micro-holes along the blade edge as it sweeps across the glass. The result is far cleaner glass in a single pass, less fluid waste, and quieter operation. The same core technology is used as factory equipment on premium European vehicles.
No permanent modification required. Installation involves disconnecting the existing washer hose from your hood nozzles and rerouting it to the wiper blade inlet. It's fully reversible — if you ever want to go back to standard wipers, simply reconnect the hood nozzles and swap the blades back. The entire process takes 20–30 minutes and requires no drilling or cutting of any body panels.
Once the hose is rerouted to the ClearStream™ blades, the hood nozzles will no longer receive fluid. This is intentional — fluid is now delivered more efficiently directly from the blade. The nozzle holes in your hood remain there but are simply not plumbed. Some customers cap them; others leave them as-is since they're not visible during normal driving.
You need two sizes, driver side and passenger side, which are almost always different. Check your owner's manual, look at your old blades (size is usually printed on the packaging), use an online size lookup tool by vehicle, or contact us. See our inch-to-mm size guide on this page. We stock 14" (355mm) through 28" (711mm) to cover virtually every vehicle.
ClearStream™ fits approximately 95% of cars, trucks, and SUVs on the road. The included adapter set covers hook-type, pin-top, pinch-tab, and side-pin wiper arm connections — the four types found on virtually all vehicles globally. Both left-hand and right-hand drive vehicles are supported. If you have an unusual or specialty vehicle, contact us and we'll advise you.
The blade assembly is rated for 800,000 to 1,100,000 wipe cycles. The rubber refill strip is rated for approximately 6 months of regular use. When the rubber wears and starts to streak, replace just the refill insert, not the entire blade and spray hardware. This reduces long-term cost and waste.
Yes. ClearStream™ is rated for −40°C (−40°F) to +80°C (+176°F). The rubber remains flexible in extreme cold. Use a winter-grade washer fluid with appropriate antifreeze rating for your climate — the same as any wiper system. The precision laser-drilled holes (0.1mm) are not prone to clogging with standard freeze-resistant fluid.
Integrated spray wiper technology exists as OEM equipment on premium European vehicles but has not been widely distributed through mainstream US auto retail. Most American drivers have never encountered them. Carrera Custom Garage is one of the very few US-based sources offering a quality aftermarket ClearStream™ wiper blade — which is exactly why you're here and not finding these at a big-box auto store.
